NEPALI YOUTH FITNESS & CALISTHENICS: Street Workout Competition 3

NYFC is a registered non-profit organization promoting calisthenics workout and creating free fitness platforms around the country.They consist of around 30 members and have managed to open up the first ever complete outdoor Calisthenics Park at Shanti Park, Boudha, Kathmandu on 6th November, 2017. The park covers an area of 15 sq. metres. This is an open public park where anyone can come in and do the exercises for free of cost anytime.

NYFC have successfully organized Street Workout Competitions for consecutive 2 years and following the this success, NYFC organized the 3rd Street workout competition on 16th November, 2019 at Shanti Park, Boudha. The event had 111 participants from cities like Pokhara, Butwal, Dang, Damak Jhapa, Nepalgunj, Kavre and Kathmandu valley and many more with an audience of around 1000 people. Apart from the competition, the event consisted of entertainments such as Calisthenics Free style, Tyre Flip challenge and Push Ups challenge.

NYFC provided free breakfast and lunch Box for all the participants, and volunteers. This time the organization partnered with OYO Nepal to accommodate the participants from outside of Kathmandu Valley. They even provided a free gym t-shirt to all the participants. The event had 3 judges to help with fair competition throughout and in case of any possible casualties; medical personnel from Doctors on Call were present at the event for the entire day.

The event consisted of three different competitions; Bar Workout, Circuit Workout for Male and Senior 35+ and Circuit Workout for Female.

Bar Workout (Open)

Discipline

20 reps Weighted Pull Ups (10Kgs)

25 reps Bar Dips

25 reps Toes to Bar

10 reps Muscle Ups

 

Circuit workout( Male, Senior 35+ and Female)

Discipline for Male and Senior 35+

Running – 1200m

Tyre Flips (120 Kg) – 10 flips

Box Jump (24 Inches) – 20 jumps

Push Press (15 Kg Dumbbell) – 10 reps (EACH HAND)

Farmer’s Carry (20Ltrs Jar each hand) – 30 METRES

 

Discipline for Female

Running – 1200m

Tyre Flips (120 Kg) – 8 flips

Box Jump (24 Inches) – 15 jumps

Push Press (10 Kgs Dumbbell) – 10 reps (EACH HAND)

Farmer’s Carry 15 Ltrs4 Gallon each hand – 30 METRES

Prizes:

“Certificate of Participation” for all the participants and volunteers.

Bar Workout:

  • 1st Place: Rs. 20,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Gold Medal of honor, Certificate of 1st
  • 2nd Place: Rs. 10,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Silver Medal of honor, Certificate of 2nd
  • 3rd Place: Rs. 5,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Bronze Medal of honor, Certificate of 3rd

Circuit Workout (Males, Senior 35+ and Female category)

  • 1st Place: Rs. 20,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Gold Medal of honor, Certificate of 1st
  • 2nd Place: Rs. 10,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Silver Medal of honor, Certificate of 2nd
  • 3rd Place: Rs. 5,000 in cash + Gifts from Caliber, TATA Swach, Bronze Medal of honor, Certificate of 3rd

Mr. Robin Rai representing Gorkha Combat UFC, Damak came 1st in the Bar Workout Open category followed by Mr. Buddha Ghising from NYFC Nepal, Kathmandu as runner up and Mr. Karan Thapa from Cage Total Finess, Kathmandu as second runner up.

As for the circuit Workout, for the male category, it was Mr. Himmat Bantawa Rai who scored the 1st place representing Gorkha Combat UFC, Damak. Mr. Karan Thapa of Cage Total Fitness and Mr YAshas Rai of BG Fitness Center, Bhaktapur won the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

In the Female’s category, Ms. Padma Thapa secured the 1st place representing Barsquad, Pokhara, Ms. Jesika Tamang from NYFC, Kathmandu in the 2nd place and Ms. Shruti Agrawal from Gorkha Combat UFC, Damak won the 3rd place in the competition.

Lastly, for the seniors 35+ category, it was Mr. Robin Rai from Gorkha Combat UFC, Damak who came in 1st followed by Mr. Manoj Thapa of Gorkha Combat UFC, Damak and Prasanna Shrestha from Lalitpur securing 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

The event was sponsored by CF Moto Nepal and co-sponsored by Pintola along with supporters such as NamunaBoudha Chess Club, Gorkha Aesthetics, Pirelli Tires, Fit Meal, visit Nepal 2020, OYO Nepal, Doctors on call, Caliber Cage Total Fitness, Fit Well, Action Sports,Gorkha Combat UFC and Agricultural Development Bank.
