CULTURED, COMPOSED AND CONFIDENT : PRAKIRAN SHRESTHA
Prakiran is successful, and he’s young. While that is a winning combo that propels you amongst the eligible bachelors of the market, it also sheds a scornful light on you. More often than not, people are quick to judge you as the guy who was born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Everyone will smile and nod, but you have to work that much harder to make sure people take you seriously. First impressions count, especially when it helps accentuates your personality.
Prakiran Shrestha is the Business Strategist for Machan Wildlife Resort, Director of Anthropose, Director of Maidan Futsal , co-founder of Sastodeal.com (WINNER OF ICT START-UP AWARD- 2016), Co founder and COO of Yakamoz Technology. He previously part-owned Irish pub and is now coming up with yet another new bustling spot in town. Considering that he is only just cruising through his mid twenties, it’s safe to say, he has proved his salt.
While executive job positions in companies are predominantly held by 35+ year olds, Prakiran has excelled at what he does. For a young working professional who is making massive strides in the profession, he looks the part. Prakiran has a simple yet cultivated style that distinguishes him from the rest.
We talk to him about his style and appearance here.
I AM ALWAYS REDISCOVERING MY STYLE. STYLE SHOULD ALWAYS BE EVOLVING OTHERWISE IT GETS BORING. RIGHT NOW, I WOULD DEFINE MY STYLE AS CREATIVE, PRACTICAL AND FASHION-FORWARD.
SINCE WE ARE REPRESENTING A FASHION BRAND, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US TO PORTRAY A STYLE THAT RELATES TO OUR BRAND IDENTITY.
MY DRESSING STYLE USUALLY REVOLVES AROUND MY WORK. I BELIEVE THAT YOUR DRESSING SENSE SHOULD REFLECT YOUR LIFESTYLE.
YOU’RE IN YOUR TWENTIES AND YOU ALREADY HAVE SO MANY THINGS ON YOUR PLATE. HOW DID IT START?
I was pursuing my bachelor degree at Ace Institute of Management, that’s when I started working on my entrepreneurial ventures. Most of my friends were abroad, studying, and I basically had a lot of free time. That phase acted as a catalyst that made me a serial entrepreneur. Our start-ups had a humble beginning and once it clicked I had an urge to be involved in something new again.
HOW IMPORTANT IS LOOKING PRESENTABLE FOR YOU?
When you look good you definitely portray yourself as a thoughtful person, there is no blundering around and you put your message on point when you appear presentable. So yeah, it is an important factor to give attention to.
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE?
I appreciate good fashion and I like fabrics that are comfortable, light and of good quality. That’s one of the influences that kicked off one of our ventures, Anthropose. It’s the first Nepalese sunglass brand. Because we are representing a fashion brand, it is very important to portray a style that relates to our brand identity. My style is simple and comfortable. My dressing style usually revolves around my work. I believe that your dressing sense should reflect your lifestyle. So I would say I express myself the best way I can in formals or semi formals that I wear to work and play.
WHAT MORE COULD YOU SAY ABOUT YOUR INDIVIDUAL STYLE?
I am always rediscovering my style. Style should always be evolving otherwise it gets boring. Right now, I would define my style as creative, practical& fashion-forward
ARE YOU BRAND CONSCIOUS?
No, not really. But having said that, it is true that good brands produce good quality. I am not brand specific but I am quality conscious.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE SPENDING ON THE MOST?
I am a big time foodie so I spend a lot on food. I won’t mind splurging on food if it is worth the money. What would you say is your most prized possession?
My suits, I’ve been investing in a few of them lately. But these things keep changing so maybe my most prized possession could be something else after a while.
IS THERE A SPECIFIC SHADE OF COLOR YOU PREFER?
Grey is my favorite, army green and olive shades are my new fascination. I’d go for navy blues if I wanted to play it safe.
ACCESSORIZING, WHAT’S YOUR SAY ON THAT?
Usually, watches are considered an important fashion accessory that serves an important role. Personally though, my smartphone works as my watch and I don’t feel it is mandatory to wear a watch. I never leave home without my wallet, computer, my phone and my battery pack. I own every model of Anthropose sunglasses ever made. And I am planning on investing on a Fitbit too.
I’ve been stuck on the BVLGARI AQVA for some time now, I love its fresh fragrance and it fits in in any occasion.
WHERE WOULD WE MOST LIKELY FIND YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I really like Vino Bistro at Lazimpat, a wine place with great ambiance and food. It’s run by Antoine Garet, he’s a French restaurateur who has been doing it right for the place. And I socialize at house parties.
WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST IN TERMS OF FASHION?
My dad is a very stylish man. He looks effortlessly good in almost anything he wears. He keeps up with the recent trends and can even pull off a hoodie with jeans! I have always envied his wardrobe. He has got exquisite tastes in suits and blazers.
