The latest trend in any professional field is shifting from traditional to creative methods, and more so on the branding and the promotional aspects. How companies or individuals portray themselves has become more and more important in recent times, especially with the increasing use of social media. Keeping this current trend in mind, three individuals with a knack for graphic designs and cartoons started Khwappa Cartoons where they create lookalike cartoon characters for their clients and use them for promotional purposes of any kind. To further elaborate on the story of Khwappa Cartoons we had a talk with the three co-founders of Khwappa Cartoons: Mr. Saujanya Pradhan, Mr. Sonal Shrestha and Mr. Sameep Babu Malla.

“WE WENT OUT ON A HUNCH AND THAT WORKED OUT REALLY WELL.”

HOW DID THE IDEA OF STARTING KHWAPPA CARTOON COME TO LIGHT?

It all started and became what it is over time. Initially we got the idea while doing a project for our college which was promotion and branding. We have always been interested in graphic designing and also Saujanya’s full time job. After that we had this idea of making lookalike cartoons for people in college. We went out on a hunch and that worked out really well. After that, we started printing on business cards, mugs, t-shirts, stickers, badges and such.

HOW IS THE RESPONSE FROM THE CUSTOMERS OR THE PUBLIC ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?

We are still to officially launch Khwappa Cartoons and we are still striving to make our business better, but as per the response, it has exceeded our expectations as we have been approached businesses in a good way, and we have had inquiries that all look positive.

YOU ARE A PRETTY YOUNG COMPANY, HOW ARE YOU TACKLING THE OBSTACLES COME YOUR WAY?

Being a small business we there are plenty of obstacles, especially because we are just starting out. Also, we have many clients that give us a small order but the printing company doesn’t take those orders because it has to be in a certain amount. And also finding a printing press and a good supplier was also a hassle but from Saujanya’s graphic designing job we were able to make it more efficient from the people he already knew. There are more obstacles and probably more that will come our way, but that is something we will take on as they come.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

We are planning do all sorts of merchandising. We hope to be the place where customers can have all sorts of branding products. Basically, our target is a package system; we are also trying to make birthday gifts, and nametags with cartoons on it for school kids. So, our target is not just business houses but personal merchandise as well. We are lately trying to reach college students where they have the option to make a group cartoon photo or also individual photos where they can quote a favorite dialogue they use or anything memorable as such.
