Art is one of the most proficient way for one to express him or herself to the world in a manner where words will suffice. And in the bid to preserve the Newari art that has been wowing art lovers all over the world, Anjana Shakya and Purna Man Shakya, the founders of Bodhisattva Gallery are doing what they can to aid in that process. Their gallery Bodhisattva serves as a medium for the people to come and experience Newari art up close and personally to get a better understanding out of them.

Having organized many art exhibitions in the past for a similar cause, this year’s exhibition named “Jewels of Newar Art, Second Edition” was inaugurated by Hon. Sashi Shrestha, the Chairperson of State Affairs Committee, Professor Gautama Vajra Vajracharya, and Anjana Shakya. This exhibition was held from 20th of January 2019 to 2nd February 2019. The exhibition featured works by 72 artists and the gates of the Bodhisattva Gallery have been permanently opened for the public since the completion of the exhibition. Three major artworks were selected to be displayed in the Welt Museum of Vienna, Austria, during their 2019 exhibition. This has further helped in promoting the Newari art to the foreign lands.

All of the artworks being exhibited in the Bodhisattva Gallery are up for sale if you have a thing for Newari works of art.
